November 18, 2006 Joelynn and Eli were sealed in the Laie, Hawaii Temple for time and all eternity. As a thank you to Joel and I, Eli took us on a shark dive. Was he thinking about an early inheritance? The night before the dive, there was a tsunami. The waves completely covered the docks.
What were we thinking?!!

HONOLULU (AP) — Small tsunami, some measuring several feet high, crashed into Hawaii on Wednesday, slightly injuring one swimmer, as ocean surges buffered a northern California harbor, damaging docks. The waves hit Hawaii about six hours after a magnitude 8.1 earthquake struck north of Japan, triggering tsunami warnings as far away as Alaska. No one was evacuated. |
The ride out to the dive spot was uneventful. Little did we know what was ahead of us.
Joelynn and Eli went in the cage first. There were some small reef sharks while they were in the water. They got out and Joel and I got in.
We went under water and were looking around when the small sharks split!!!! They wanted no part of the new visitors. I was holding on to the side of the cage with my face about 3" from the cage side when a tiger shark ran into the cage right in front of me!!! He wanted to eat me!!! Those on the boat said they could hear me screaming under water. There were 2 tiger sharks and that was very rare!! Was I ever glad I had the cage between us so we didn't get any closer or personal. I had enough and got out of the water. The guys on the boat started feeding them. What an experience!!! One I'll never forget!!!
