The Flower Fields with Dawnielle

I was lucky enough to be able to spend part of the day with only Dawnielle.  We went for a drive to Carlsbad to see "The Flower Fields".  They were only starting to bloom, but it was still beautiful.  I learned the best time to go is later in April when the main field right behind Armstrong Nursery is blooming.  I've always gone towards the end of the Ranuculus season.  The Fields are open March1st thru May8th this year.  It's open 10 weeks each spring.

There is a greenhouse FILLED with beautiful orchids!!!

There is also a beautiful garden to walk thru.

There is a Sweet Pea Maze to walk thru.  Later in the season they are beginning to  die.  We were lucky to see them all blooming  It was filled with all the colors.

They also have a poinsettia greenhouse.   

This is a new variety, the 1188.  It won't be in stores for over a year yet.

It was a fun day in San Diego County.  It was cool because of a deep Marine layer.  We couldn't even see the beach.  It was a fun day with my #1 child.
